A seasoned executive, entrepreneur, and innovator whose decades-long career spans aerospace, high technology, software development, and private equity, Michael Wetzer earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and IT from California State University, Long Beach, and an MBA in quantitative systems from Loyola Marymount University. Over the course of his career, Michael Wetzer has held roles at companies such as GEAC, Rockwell/Boeing, EY, and Accenture, and has founded ventures including Malden Labs and the Coastal Group of Companies.
His work has included international project management, large-scale operations oversight, and business development. At Boeing, Mr. Wetzer led a CAD design operation, and during his time at Accenture, led the development of its global R&D practice and supported software partnership initiatives. He also served as executive vice president at Destiny USA, during which he contributed to a exo scale BIM project expanding the boundries of green building technologies and LEED standards.
Currently, Mr. Wetzer serves as chairman of both Cyandia and the Coastal Group of Companies. With the latter, he is involved in guiding and investing in technology firms. He holds 23 patents across software, aerospace, and predictive maintenance systems. Outside of his business activities, Michael Wetzer maintains an interest in aviation, supports military career transition programs, and participates in professional speaking and mentoring.
